The forging process used by iForged Performance Alloys to produce two piece and three wheels results in the highest quality wheel for trucks and automobiles. This process is the result of forging and machining know how developed over 35 years of experience producing forged parts for aerospace and commercial applications.
The forging process uses high pressure and temperature to change the non-directional grain structure of the 6061-T6 aluminum starting material to the high integrity multi-directional grain structure of forgings. The aluminum remains solid throughout the process as the forging dies come together and change the shape of the round cast bar to the cylindrical shape of a wheel.
This forged blank is then placed in a custom built spin-forging machine to spin out and forge the rim section. The resulting radial grain direction places the highest material strength in the same direction as the operating loads. The result is “premium strength”. iForged Wheels have the additional benefit of adding an high polished mirror finish. This can be achieved because of the high integrity of the metallic structure produced by the forging process.

The bottom line is premium strength. iForged uses Computer Numerical Control or CNC technology combined with Computer Aided Design (CAD) to precisely lathe and mill each raw forging into a iForged 1-piece, 2piece, or 3 piece wheel.
Every iForged Wheels is custom built to order based on your requirements and specifications. Fusing technology with hand built craftsmanship every iForged wheels is a custom piece of metal artwork. True to iForged’s commitment to quality, the rim outers and center are a precision fit, both pieces fit perfectly before being hand assembled. All wheels are then inspected for runout and concentricity, and each wheel leaves with a certificate of quality.
Before manufacturing a wheel iForged Performance Alloys engineers perform a Finite Element Analysis to accurately analyze the strength of our wheels. Each iForged wheel design is independently tested to meet or exceed DOT, SAE, JWL, and TUV standards for strength and fatigue requirements.
